Join us for a spirited talk with Bill Benner & Milt Thompson on how sports turned Indianapolis from a once sleepy "Naptown" into the vibrant and booming city it is today!

Milton O. Thompson is an attorney with Bleeke Dillon Crandal and President & CEO of Grand Slam.  He co-founded Play Ball Indiana and is a well-known contract advisor for the NFL & NBA Players Association.  Thompson currently serves on the Indianapolis Capital Improvement Board, the Tourism Tomorrow Board of Visit Indy, the English Foundation, Crown Hill Heritage Foundation, Crown Hill Board of Managers and the Indiana World Skating Academy Board.  

Thompson was instrumental to the Pan American Games and served as general counsel. He is a former First Team All-American baseball player at Wittenberg University and a graduate of Indiana University School of Law. 

Bill Benner is the SVP of Corporate/Community & Public Relations for Pacers Sports & Entertainment.  Benner is noted as a long-time Indianapolis sports journalist, commentator and local sports expert.  He was inducted into the Indiana Sportscasters & Sportswriters Association Hall of Fame in April 2017 and has been a columnist & sportswriter for The Indianapolis Star for 33 years.

Benner is a former VP for Indiana Sports Corp & former Director of Communications for Visit Indy.  In addition to his former work with the Horizon League, Benner also hosted the Inside INdiana Sports segment on Gerry Dick's statewide Inside INdiana Business television show and wrote a weekly sports column for The Indianapolis Business Journal.
